TOWN OF BRUCETON has an immediate opening for a Full Time Clerk. Duties would be varied and fast-paced.  They include but not limited to data entry, customer service, water billing and various other duties as required.  Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent, be computer literate, detail orientated, willing to learn new computer software and procedures.  Customer service outlook is a must.

Starting pay $14.25 per hour. 

Benefits include TCRS Retirement, Employer Paid Medical Insurance and Life Insurance, Sick Leave and Vacation after 12 months.

Position Filled
FULL-TIME PATROLMAN
The Bruceton Police Department is seeking applicants for a full-time patrolman and works under the general supervision of the Chief of Police. A BPD police officer must be committed to excellence, professionalism and community service. We are seeking those who possess integrity, dedication, honesty, and moral judgement. The patrolman is responsible for enforcement of the State of Tennessee traffic and criminal laws.
Minimum Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required. Applicants must be
  • At least 21 years of age
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Tennessee driver’s license and safe driving record
  • NO FELONY or serious misdemeanor convictions
  • MUST be a full-time POST certified police officer.
Critical Competencies and Skills:
  • Knowledge of law enforcement practices, methods, and techniques
  • Knowledge of traffic and criminal laws, and departmental regulations and procedures
  • Maintains control of persons by use of minimal force needed in required situations
  • Ability to properly prepare and write police reports
  • Ability to operate motor vehicles used in work activities

GENERAL LABORER

The Town of Bruceton has a current opening for a General Laborer. The applicant will use a variety of hand tools and small machinery such as weed eater, mower, etc. The applicant will be required to lift, carry, dig, climb, bend and move moderately to very heavy objects. The employee may be exposed to all types of weather conditions. Assists with water leaks, sewer lines and water mains and service lines. Applicant will be required to take on-call status after training on a rotating schedule.

QUALIFICATIONS
Successful completion of high school or equivalent. Experience in performing heavy manual work. Employment Physical and Drug Screen required. Must have a valid Tennessee driver’s license.

COMPENSATION
Compensation based on qualifications. The Town of Bruceton pays for TCRS Retirement, Single Health Insurance, Life Insurance, accrued Vacation and Sick Leave, all Federal Holidays after probation period.
